About Oplan Paglaum
Rooted in the Gospel and enlightened by the teachings of the Church, we dedicate ourselves to living out H.O.P.E.—Humility, Obedience, Perseverance, and Empathy—in all our humanitarian and spiritual endeavors.
We commit to: Serve with humility, placing the needs of others above our own and offering help with quiet generosity. Seek God’s wisdom, discerning His will through prayer, faith, and obedience. Persevere in compassion, especially for the poor, the marginalized, and the suffering, continuing our mission even in challenging times.
Embrace empathy, recognizing Christ in every person and responding to their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Inspired by Archbishop Teofilo Camomot’s life of profound love and selfless giving, we strive to be instruments of God’s peace—bringing hope, restoring dignity, and nurturing a more compassionate and Christ-centered world.
H.O.P.E. — Our Core Values
H – Humility in Service We serve with a humble heart, following Archbishop Teofilo Camomot’s example of quiet generosity and compassionate presence. True service is not measured by recognition but by the sincerity with which we lift others up.
O – Obedience to God’s Wisdom Guided by the teachings of the Church, we open ourselves to God’s will. We listen, discern, and act with faith, trusting that every good work begins with obedience to divine inspiration.
P – Perseverance in Compassion We remain steadfast in helping those in need—especially the poor, the forgotten, and the suffering. Our mission continues even when the path is difficult, for love that endures becomes a living testimony of God’s mercy.
E – Empathy for All We strive to see Christ in every person. Through empathy, we respond not only to physical needs but to emotional and spiritual wounds, offering presence, understanding, and hope.

Our Mission
Our Vision
We envision a community where Christ’s compassion is made visible through humble service, unwavering faith, and genuine care for every person. Guided by the spirit of Archbishop Teofilo Camomot, we aspire to become a beacon of hope—transforming lives, uplifting the poor, healing the wounded, and fostering a world shaped by peace, mercy, and authentic love.
Christian Hope Organization Our History On September 30, 2025, at 9:59 PM (PST), a powerful magnitude-6.9 earthquake struck Cebu and its neighboring provinces. The epicenter—located 19 kilometers northeast offshore of Bogo City at a depth of 5 kilometers—caused widespread destruction. According to the Cebu Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, the disaster claimed at least 65 lives, sending waves of grief across the region.
But in the midst of devastation, something remarkable happened. Cebu rose together. Ordinary citizens—young and old—mobilized almost instantly. Relief efforts appeared everywhere: people cooked, donated, volunteered, and reached out to the hardest-hit communities. It was compassion in action.
The Spark That Started Oplan Paglaum From this collective spirit of kindness, Oplan Paglaum was born. It began with a daughter’s simple yet powerful wish to help those suffering. Angele Desvoux told her mother, Lalie Rose Desvoux, that she wanted to serve the earthquake victims. Touched by her daughter’s compassion, Mrs. Desvoux reached out to Jan Peter Las Piñas, who then connected with Bro. Kendrick Miñoza, Rev. Fr. Eriberto V. Surbano Jr., and Rev. Fr. Alden John Baran. On October 5, 2025, the group gathered over lunch and laid the foundations of a relief plan grounded in love, faith, and service.
During that same meeting, friends of Mrs. Desvoux generously pledged and donated over ₱90,000, even before the planning session ended. Later in the afternoon, Angele joined as the team finalized the immediate relief operations. A Movement Blessed by Generosity Tasking began right away—volunteers were needed for packing, cooking, and distribution. And God provided. By the very next day, goods were purchased, donations continued pouring in, and volunteers arrived with joyful hearts ready to serve. Within 24 hours, the small request of one young girl had transformed into a mission driven by compassion.
Mrs. Desvoux had long prayed that her children would be touched by God’s heart for others. Through Angele’s simple request, that prayer was beautifully answered. Packed with Love, Shared with God As volunteers packed each relief item, they did so with smiles, gratitude, and hope. Every bag was more than assistance—it was a message: “You are loved. You are not forgotten. We are with you.” Families in Northern Cebu received goods packed with care and shared with the intention of glorifying God. Through the hands of volunteers, blessings flowed from one community to another. Our Mission Moving Forward The Christian Hope Organization now continues the spirit that birthed Oplan Paglaum—to serve with: Compassion Faith Unity Love for God and neighbor We believe that when a small prayer is touched by God’s grace, great and unexpected things can happen.
